The brief called for a contemporary family home with strong indoor-outdoor connections, generous entertaining spaces, and a material palette that would make a statement without becoming dated. The resulting design delivers on every count, with a floor plan that flows intuitively from private to public spaces and an exterior that commands attention from every angle.
Outdoor Living
Private outdoor areas provide secluded retreats where the owners can unwind and enjoy the serenity of their garden. These spaces are thoughtfully designed to offer a respite from the outside world — protected from neighbours' views by strategic landscaping and screening, they create the feeling of a private resort within a suburban setting.
The relationship between indoor and outdoor space is seamless. Large sliding doors dissolve the boundary between the living areas and the garden, allowing the family to expand their living space outdoors during Tasmania's warm months. When the weather turns, the glass doors frame the garden as a living artwork, its changing seasons providing a constantly evolving backdrop to daily life.
The abundance of pot plants strategically placed throughout the home add a touch of greenery and life to the living spaces.
