DUFF HOUSE

est. 2015

Site

Set on a hill looking over Sheffield and taking in the panoramic views of mount Roland

Story

The home was designed by Jonathan Buist architects, clad in James Hardie wood grain Axon and Easylap panel with a simple 4 degree colorbond skillion roof and three meter raking eves that opens up to the views, the home has settled in nicely with its surroundings.

Material

The home has been designed to be able to open up for indoor outdoor entertaining and has alfresco areas on both sides of the home for use in different weather conditions. The perimeter walls of the living, kitchen, dining and lounge have been framed from 140mm studs to allow for the hardwired electric blinds. Sit back in your chair and hit a button and you can control all the blinds in the living areas.

Solitude

Construction of this home was reasonably complex as we wanted to maximize the expansive mountain views with floor to ceiling glazing throughout the living areas which ultimately meant concealing all of the structural beams within the ceiling space.
