Having time to spend with my kids is the biggest accomplishment in my business career. All the advice I received from older builders was about making sure I spent time with my family or my kids would be grown up before I knew it.

We are very grateful to be able to travel the world for a few months a year while still having a business that can deliver constant work I am proud of. I get what it's like to feel alone as a builder. Why is it “normal” to deal with incomplete plans, incorrect budgets and uncertain timelines?

Back in 2012, Davies Construction won their first building award, but we were nearly underwater and struggled to pay our bills. I was taking unprofitable projects to pay for previous project material, and I understood why 90% of builders go out of business in the first 5 years.

I started looking for answers and had a number of coaches teach me, so it's time to pay it forward. It's time to help each other build our businesses, build our lives, and build better environments for our clients.
